The Underglobe is a spectacular evening events space located beneath the iconic cultural landmark Shakespeare’s Globe, on the banks of the Thames.

Operated by Swan at the Globe, this unique venue combines world-class hospitality with creative production expertise. Swan is the exclusive hospitality partner of Shakespeare’s Globe, running the bar, restaurant, and event spaces on site.

This impressive corporate events venue features a prestigious location, a private riverside entrance, and can host events for 80 to 450 guests. With a highly experienced team behind it, the space features immersive projection mapping and state-of-the-art AV, making it the ultimate choice for award dinners, cocktail receptions, Christmas parties, and high-tech corporate events.

Offer

• Salary up to £60,000 (depending on experience)
• 45 hours per week (Full-time, permanent)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full operational delivery of events at the Underglobe
• Manage and develop the Underglobe events team, ensuring a high standard of service and presentation
• Collaborate closely with Sales & Planning, Shakespeare’s Globe, and other internal stakeholders
• Ensure all events are delivered to spec, on time, and within budget
• Create and implement a strategic operational plan for the venue
• Oversee staff resourcing, agency liaison, and rota management in line with business demands
• Represent the venue and the wider Swan brand with professionalism at all times
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, and all regulatory obligations
• Maintain stock control, event equipment, and key cost lines to support financial targets

We're looking for an experienced senior events operations professional with a passion for delivering high-impact, large-scale events. You will bring a hands-on leadership style, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to inspire a team. Calm under pressure, solution-focused, and confident with client engagement, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the Underglobe’s reputation as one of London’s most iconic and professionally operated venues.
