We offer a range of services including highway and structure maintenance and improvement schemes.What you'll be doing Reporting to the Chief Estimator, create accurate sustainable estimates, budgets and target costs for civil engineering projects.Determine pricing requirements from client documentationUnderstand contractual implications and operationTake responsibility, under minimum supervision, for bid preparation, completion, and submission.Take off quantities and prepare formal BOQAssist clients through preparation of budgets from earliest project design stages.Assist and challenge operational solution and programmeBuild up formal cost estimates through a mixture of first principles people, equipment, materials and subcontract costs in accordance with project and client requirementsPrepare and manage supply chain enquiries, compare and resolve quotationsAssess and cost project risks and opportunitiesUnderstand current market prices and conditions, and benchmark our solutions to minimise risk and increase success.Engage with client to understand their need, resolve queries, provide confidence in our approach, and confirm understanding of our submissions.Prepare summary papers for governance review.Adherence to M Group policies and proceduresProvide formal project handover to commercial and operational teamsWhat you will bring Demonstrable Civil Engineering experiencePrevious relevant estimating experienceDemonstrable take off and MMHW BOQ production experienceDegree/HNC qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or similarRelevant CSCS CardGood understanding of the NEC suite of contractsAbility to work efficiently with other members of the teamParticular attention to detail with good project management skillsAbility to hit tight deadlines under pressureAbility to communicate at all levels, both verbally and writtenExperience of using estimating software, and strong Excel / general IT skills.Whats in it for you?
