Senior Estimator Job Overview
Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid submissions for commercial roofing and refurbishment contracts
Conduct site surveys and analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
Develop professional proposals and presentations to support tender success
Identify value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining system integrity
Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to enhance bidding capability
Provide internal reporting on bid pipeline, margins, and performance against targets
Senior Estimator Job Requirements
Demonstrable experience in estimating or quantity surveying within commercial roofing or facade systems
Technical knowledge of flat roofing, pitched roofing, heritage roofing, lead and liquid-applied systems
Strong commercial awareness, numerical accuracy, and attention to margin control
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and take-off software
Excellent communication skills for client liaison and supplier interaction
Self-motivated with a methodical and structured work style
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to site and client locations across London/South East
