Senior Estimator Bespoke Joinery | Derby | Full Time | £50,000£55,000 + PackageThis is not a standard estimating role. Its an opportunity to step into a key position within a growing business, where youll have real influence over how things are done, not just what gets priced.Youll act as the commercial lead on site, taking ownership of estimating while also playing a key role in site operations. As part of their continued growth, fire door and compliance-led work is becoming an increasingly important part of their offering.What will your role look like?Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke joinery & interior fit-out packagesPricing fire-rated doorsets and demonstrating an understanding of fire door compliance requirements (training provided if needed)Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentationCarrying out site surveys to inform pricing and project deliveryLiaising closely with Design & Drafting colleagues to ensure accuracy and buildabilityHandling variations and supporting the full commercial lifecycle of projectsTaking ownership of job costing, margin control, and overall profitabilityWorking closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project handoverBuilding strong relationships with contractors, clients, and stakeholdersSupporting the development of estimating processes, tools, and best practicesAs you grow into the role, youll also:Act as the key escalation point for site and team-related mattersWork alongside the Production Lead to ensure smooth site operationsHelp shape systems, structure, and ways of workingInfluence how the site operates from both a commercial and operational perspectiveThis is a role with real autonomy and responsibility, where your input will be visible and valued.Are you the right person for the job?Proven experience as an Estimator within joinery, fit-out, interiors, or a related construction environmentExperience in pricing bespoke joinery projects and a strong technical understandingExposure to fire doors, fire-rated products, or compliance-led work (highly desirable)Good understanding of fire door compliance requirements or willingness to develop in this areaStrong commercial awareness, including job costing, margin control, and profitability managementAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsExperience managing project variations and working with clients or contractorsA proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to take ownershipA confident people managerIt would be great if you also have:Exposure to site-based roles or operational/site management responsibilitiesWhats in it for you?Salary of £50,000£55,000Performance-related bonus20 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)Travel expenses covered / access to company vehicle when requiredFull-time, permanent position within a stable and growing businessSupportive leadership team with clear direction and ambitionOpportunity to shape processes and influence how the role developsTraining and development, including exposure to specialist and compliance workWorking PatternPrimarily office-based in Derby (some flexibility considered after probation)Regular site involvement, including surveys and operational oversightOccasional travel to other sites and client locationsWhats next?
