You will be involved in all stages of the software testing processes, guide, and mentor other more junior engineers within the team, take active part in the estimation and planning of new projects, and liaise directly with customers, suppliers, and other engineering teams within TAE Power Solutions (TPS).ResponsibilitiesProvide technical delivery of software test activities to meet timescale and cost targets for R&D products and customer projectsTechnical support for embedded software testing for a range of vehicle domains (e.g. powertrain, BMS, Charging), through development and validation of Embedded SoftwareInvolved in development / review of technical software requirement documentsSupport system integration testing, provide debugging capability during development and deliver production ready solutionsInterface with suppliers and partners with technical requirements and feedback for existing and new designsWork closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g. electronic hardware, control SW etc.) to develop modern, innovative and practical solutionsRequired Education & ExperienceDegree qualified in an Engineering or Science related discipline as a minimumA minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience successfully supporting projects in an engineering environment either in an OEM or Tier 1, for production or R&D programmesSupporting systems engineering processes and software testingExperience of embedded firmware testing, for software deployed onto and interfacing with bespoke hardwareSignificant experience of scripting language development for test systemsTesting experience of functional safety compliant software, as per ISO 26262Authoring required documentation, including requirements specifications, technical reports, test specifications, user manuals, work instructions etc.Bench testing and practical validation of software functionality and safety requirementsA history of interfacing with external stakeholders (e.g. customers or suppliers) for dealing with technical queries and resolving technical issues.Desired ExperienceIt would be beneficial if the applicant has experience in the following areas:Testing experience of application of systems and software developed using (e.g. UML, SysML) and tools (e.g. Simulink, Targetlink)Testing experience of low-level software for xEV components e.g. BMS, inverters, DC/DC converters, OBC etc.Use of standard automotive diagnostics and calibration toolsFamiliarity with Automotive SPICE development frameworkKnowledge of control systems and the practical application of control theoryPersonal AttributesSelf-motivated, creative, and adaptive team playerCollaborative & willing to take on roles, responsibilities and challenges required to achieve company goals and objectives.Must enjoy working in a Team with the key objective of supporting the TeamWhat we offerA collaborative environment: An organization, where talents and interests can plug in to different groups outside of direct job description.Generous payment rewards: For novel research, patents, and talent referralsPotential for equity participationHybrid/remote work options for certain positionsRobust team-building events on and off-siteAbout UsWe are a team of over 250 engineers, scientists, professionals, and big thinkers from over 40 countries.
