This includes researching emerging technologies, evaluating modern components and techniques, and running proof-of-concept activities to demonstrate their suitability.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\nProviding day-to-day technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to an electronics development team\n\nActing as technical authority for electronic designs, ensuring quality, reliability and fitness for purpose\n\nLeading and conducting formal electronic design reviews\n\nTranslating user requirements into robust technical solutions\n\nSetting strategic technical direction and maintaining awareness of emerging technologies\n\nWorking closely with suppliers, manufacturers and academic partners\n\nMaintaining delivery momentum to meet operational deadlines\n\nQualifications\n\nEssential\n\nDegree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline\nOR\n\nPostgraduate qualification (MEng or PhD) in an electronic engineering discipline\n\nDesirable\n\nPhD in RF Engineering\n\nChartered Engineer (CEng)\n\nEssential Experience\n\nYou must be able to demonstrate:\n\nAt least 12 years' electronics design experience\n\nTechnical leadership of an electronics systems development team with multi-disciplinary skills\n\nDay-to-day technical oversight, mentoring and guidance of engineers\n\nSignificant experience in at least three of the following:\n\nRF design and analysis\n\nFPGA design (VHDL, simulation and hardware design)\n\nSchematic capture and multi-layer PCB design\n\nMiniaturisation and design for manufacture\n\nReal-time embedded systems (hardware and software design using C)\n\nAudio and communications systems\n\nMechanical design and 3D modelling\n\nSecurity & Eligibility\n\nThis role requires access to highly sensitive material.
