Job Description I am working with a leading EPC who are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the high voltage electrical scope on utility-scale BESS projects delivered under EPC contracts across the UK.
You will act as the EPC’s technical authority for HV systems, overseeing design management, procurement, supplier tendering, and ICP-led grid connections, while supporting construction, commissioning, and energisation. This role is central to ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Manage the HV electrical design from concept through detailed design for EPC-delivered BESS projects (typically 132Kv +).
Review and approve primary and secondary designs
Manage design interfaces between OEMs, balance-of-plant contractors, ICPs, and civil works.
Ensure compliance with UK standards and codes (ENA, IEC, BS, G99/G100, CDM).
ICP & Grid Connections
Act as EPC technical lead for ICP connections, coordinating with ICPs, DNOs, and National Grid.
Manage technical inputs to grid applications, connection agreements, and adoption processes.
Oversee technical compliance through design, construction, testing, and energisation.
