Job Description
Our client, a fast-growing clean-energy innovator transforming the way industries power their operations, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their expanding R&D team. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of advanced electrical architectures, drive innovative R&D programmes, and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to deliver safe, reliable, high-performance hydrogen-powered technologies.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for hydrogen-powered solutions, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with LV, MV, and HV standards. Drive innovation across R&D projects, applying first-principles thinking to develop and optimise next- electrical technologies. Manage and self-lead engineering research activities, integrating mechanical and controls engineering considerations as required. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicating complex technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences. Mentor and support colleagues within the R&D team, promoting best practice and maintaining high technical standards.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will have:
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (1st class degree desirable; PhD or equivalent advantageous). High level of competence in electrical engineering from first principles, with the capability to act as technical authority. Good understanding of mechanical and controls engineering. Confident liaising with stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds. Knowledge of hydrogen fuel cells (desirable). Experience working with LV, MV, and HV power systems.
