Electrical Design Engineer - Control Panels & Compliance\n\nLocation: Gloucestershire\n Employment Type: Permanent / Full-time\n Salary: Competitive + benefits \nWe're looking for a proactive Electrical Design Engineer to take ownership of electrical design across a range of engineered products-from early concept through to production release. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary environment and is confident designing to stringent safety and compliance standards.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nYou'll play a key role in developing control panel designs, integrating PLC systems, and producing the documentation needed to ensure products meet UK/EU regulatory requirements. You'll collaborate closely with Mechanical Design, Compliance, and Manufacturing teams to deliver robust, manufacturable, and fully compliant solutions.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\nLeading the electrical design of packaged systems, including control panel layouts, schematic diagrams, and cable schedules.\n\nSpecifying and selecting electrical components to meet performance, safety, and compliance criteria.\n\nDeveloping and integrating PLC-based control systems (programming experience beneficial but not essential).\n\nProducing accurate electrical documentation: design calculations, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and supporting files.\n\nEnsuring designs comply with Health & Safety, CE/UKCA, and relevant UK/EU regulations (LVD, EMC, Machinery Directive).\n\nSupporting EMC compliance activities, including design best practice and collaboration with external test houses.\n\nWorking closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and manufacturability.\n\nParticipating in design reviews, risk assessments, verification, and validation activities.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nDegree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.\n\nProven experience in control panel design for industrial or commercial applications.\n\nWorking knowledge of PLC-based systems (e.g.

Siemens, Schneider, or similar).\n\nStrong understanding of electrical design principles, Health & Safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.\n\nFamiliarity with applicable standards and directives, including: \n\nLow Voltage Directive (LVD)\n\nEMC Directive\n\nMachinery Directive\n\nBS EN (phone number removed)\n\nExperience supporting EMC-compliant design and associated test documentation.\n\nCompetence with CAD/schematic design tools (e.g. SolidWorks Electrical or similar).\n\nExcellent attention to detail and strong documentation and communication skills.\n\nInterested?\n\nIf you'd like to learn more or be considered for the role, please send your CV for immediate consideration
