Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in 132kV substation design. The role will primarily focus on Protection & Control systems, while also requiring a broad understanding of other substation design disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver detailed design for 132kV primary substations.
Lead and support Protection & Control (P&C) design activities.
Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
Provide technical support throughout project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning.
Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in 132kV substation design.
Strong background in Primary Substation engineering.
Expertise in Protection & Control design.
Good understanding of broader substation design disciplines (e.g., civil, structural, electrical layouts).
Ability to produce and review high-quality technical documentation.
Desirable Requirements
Experience working with a Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
Professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it.
