Our Client requires a skilled Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to manage electrical operations for a substantial MEP infrastructure project worth £48 million. This opportunity calls for a proven specialist with deep knowledge in electrical systems and project oversight. The appointed individual will be responsible for delivering the project successfully, meeting deadlines and financial targets, whilst ensuring superior standards of quality and safety

Responsibilities
* Project Oversight: Direct and oversee all electrical contracting elements of the project, maintaining strict compliance with established timelines and financial parameters
* Strategic Planning & Coordination: Formulate and execute comprehensive project blueprints and scheduling frameworks Collaborate with MEP teams, contractors, vendors, and key stakeholders to ensure fluid project delivery
* Resource Allocation: Strategically deploy resources including workforce, materials, and machinery to fulfil project specifications and meet critical deadlines
* Quality Control: Verify that all electrical installations meet applicable codes, regulations, and performance standards Perform routine site inspections and assessments to uphold superior craftsmanship
* Safety Management: Establish and maintain rigorous safety procedures to create a secure work environment for all on-site personnel Respond swiftly to any safety concerns that arise
* Financial Oversight: Track project costs and oversee fiscal resources to maintain budgetary constraints Generate and deliver periodic financial status reports
* Risk Assessment: Recognize and address potential hazards related to electrical project components Create backup strategies to handle unexpected obstacles
* Client Relations: Act as the main liaison with clients, delivering consistent project status updates, resolving issues, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction
* Documentation Control: Organize and maintain thorough project records, including agreements, licensing, modification requests, and status documentation
* Team Development: Guide and develop a diverse team of electrical project managers, engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors Cultivate a cooperative and efficient workplace culture
Qualifications and Experience
* The candidate will have an electrical bias background
* Experience: Extensive experience in electrical engineering and project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale MEP projects, preferably in the healthcare sector
* Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations Proficiency in project management software and tools
* Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
* Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders
* Core Electrical Qualifications: 236 Part 1&2 Electrical Installation
o 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – This is the current standard for electrical installations in the UK and is essential for compliance and safety
o City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection and Testing certification, often required for overseeing quality and compliance on-site
o JIB Gold Card (Approved Electrician status) – Demonstrates a recognised level of competence and experience in electrical installation
* Certifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – Required for managing health and safety on construction sites
o PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 – While not always mandatory, these are respected credentials for structured project delivery
o NEC3/NEC4 Contract Training – Familiarity with NEC contracts is often expected in public sector and healthcare projects
