Job Description

Job Overview Senior Ecologist job in Crawley, West Sussex, offering a hybrid role within an established environmental consultancy. This position involves delivering ecological services across the South East, combining field surveys and technical reporting. Suited to an experienced ecologist seeking project ownership, client exposure, and progression into a leadership pathway across infrastructure, development, and planning sectors.

Role & Responsibilities

\n

\n Lead protected species and habitat surveys \n

Manage projects from inception to delivery \n

Produce PEAs, EcIAs, and technical reports \n

Maintain client relationships and communication \n

Support tenders and business development \n

Mentor junior ecologists and review outputs \n

Ensure compliance with ecological legislation \n

Balance fieldwork and office-based tasks \n

Skills & Experience Required

\n

\n 3+ years ecology consultancy experience \n

Strong report writing and technical delivery \n

Protected species survey experience \n

Relevant licence or FISC Level 4+ \n

Project management and client liaison skills \n

Knowledge of UK ecological legislation \n

Full UK driving licence \n

CIEEM membership or working towards \n

Salary & Benefits £36,000 - £43,000 depending on experience. 33 days annual leave, pension contributions, private medical insurance, income protection, and professional fees paid. Hybrid working supported.
