We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director, Coaching Capability for a high-level contract opportunity based in Stirling, ACT, with hybrid working arrangements.
This is a unique opportunity for a senior professional to lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of a system-wide coaching model within a complex and high-profile environment. The role is focused on strengthening coaching capability across a specialist workforce, ensuring a consistent, high-impact approach that supports quality practice, reflective learning and continuous improvement.
Working in a central leadership capacity, you will be responsible for developing and embedding a coaching framework that supports practitioners to effectively influence professional practice within schools. You will provide structured guidance, modelling, supervision and reflective practice to lift coaching capability and ensure consistency and fidelity across the broader team.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in coaching methodologies, adult learning, influence and behaviour change, along with proven experience translating complex theory into practical, repeatable and measurable frameworks. You will be comfortable working across senior stakeholders and specialist teams, with the ability to navigate resistance, build trust and drive capability uplift in complex operational settings.
This opportunity will suit a senior leader with a strong background in coaching capability, professional practice development, organisational uplift, or specialist workforce development. Experience designing sustainable coaching models, embedding reflective practice and supporting multidisciplinary teams will be highly regarded.
Key responsibilities
Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a system-wide coaching model
Designing and embedding a consistent, high-impact coaching framework
Building coaching capability through modelling, structured guidance, supervision and reflective practice
Ensuring quality, consistency and fidelity of coaching practice across the team
Translating advanced coaching theory into operational, repeatable and measurable tools and frameworks
Providing expert guidance on influence, resistance, adult learning and behaviour change
Working collaboratively with stakeholders to align coaching practice with broader service priorities.
To be successful
Advanced coaching expertise and experience building coaching capability at scale
Strong experience developing sustainable practice models within specialist or multidisciplinary teams
The ability to operationalise theory into practical frameworks, tools and modules
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound judgement, professionalism and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.
