Senior Designer, Workplace

New Yesterday

Job Description

The Studio

This established architecture and interior design practice is recognised for its people centred approach to workplace design. Working with a diverse mix of creative clients - including charities, advertising agencies, media companies, and cultural organisations - the studio creates offices and headquarters that are both highly functional and rich in character and colour.

Projects range from adaptive reuse and large-scale refurbishments to new workplace environments. The studio places strong emphasis on sustainability, and design that genuinely supports wellbeing and productivity.

Team development sits at the heart of the practice. Designers are trusted with responsibility early, supported by clear mentorship, and encouraged to grow both creatively and technically. The culture is open, inclusive, and energetic - a place where ideas are shared freely, learning is continuous, and good design is a collective effort.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to play a key part in the design and delivery of high-quality workplace projects, from early briefing and concept stages through to completion on site. You will contribute to design strategy, spatial planning, and material narratives, ensuring each project responds thoughtfully to the client’s brand, culture, and operational needs.

You will work closely with directors, coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors to deliver well-resolved, technically robust schemes. The role combines hands-on design work with growing responsibility for project coordination, client communication, and supporting junior team members as projects progress.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience leading the design and delivery of workplace and commercial interior projects
  • Strong capability at concept development, spatial planning, and translating client briefs into clear, compelling design narratives
  • Confident overseeing projects across all stages, from early briefing and feasibility through detailed design, construction, and handover
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, with the ability to review and coordinate detailed drawing packages and models to a high technical standard
  • Solid understanding of workplace standards, building regulations, and coordination with consultants including MEP, structural, and cost teams
  • Experienced in managing client relationships, chairing meetings, and acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior and mid-level designers, providing design direction, technical guidance, and quality control
  • Comfortable balancing creative ambition with programme, budget, and buildability considerations
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and resources concurrently in a fast-paced studio environment
