Our client, a leading provider in the water sector, is looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Senior Design Manager based in the North West, with hybrid working options available.\n\nThis permanent role involves leading projects through their design phases for a portfolio of projects, ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered in line with all stakeholder requirements, programme expectations, and engineering design procedures.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCommitment to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying with all relevant specifications, codes, rules, regulations, and H&S legislation.\nIdentification and management of H&S hazards and effective communication of residual risks to stakeholders.\nLeading the design team to meet customer requirements and project objectives.\nAccountability for design expenditure, driving efficiency, and managing overall outturn costs.\nOrganising all design elements, documenting in the Design Management Plan, and preparing monthly status updates.\nAttending and contributing to relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.\nEnsuring technical solutions are cost-effective while maintaining quality standards and on-time delivery.\nProviding technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages as required.\nEnsuring all technical work adheres to correct standards and specifications, following appropriate systems of work and quality assurance.\nContributing to sustainability targets by reducing embodied and operational Carbon Footprints.\nEffective communication and collaboration with people from various organisations and disciplines.\nProviding exceptional customer service internally, with partners, and externally with clients and the public.\nRepresenting the client company and promoting its reputation in all client contacts.\nMaintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to work and providing open and honest feedback.\nEnsuring confidentiality in all reasonable steps. \n\nJob Requirements:\n\nExtensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management within a design-build environment.\nDegree and Chartered Engineer in an engineering-related discipline.\nAPM Project Fundamentals Qualification.\nDelivery-driven with the ability to set targets and manage multi-disciplinary teams to achieve objectives.\nWorking knowledge of CDM regulations and construction Health & Safety.\nSignificant experience in large-scale project delivery.\nStrategic, operational, technical, and management skills.\nGeneral knowledge of water treatment, including process, civil, and MEICA engineering aspects.\nAbility to present technical proposals clearly and confidently.\nExperience in the Water/Wastewater Treatment Industry would be an advantage\nAbility to embrace collaborative and innovative working.\nKnowledge of BIM procedures and techniques. \n\nBenefits:\n\nHybrid working opportunities\nCar/car allowance\n25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays (with the option to buy an additional 5 days)\nContribution Pension scheme\nLife Assurance\nHealth Insurance\nPrivate Medical Insurance\nAdditional benefits like cycle to work scheme, discounts, savings hub, and Kids Pass \n\nIf you are an experienced Senior Design Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and are looking to further your career within the water sector, we would love to hear from you
