Senior Design Engineer Dungannon Monday-Friday Competitive Salary + Benefits An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established engineering manufacturer as a Senior Design Engineer. This role offers a strong mix of design, product improvement, and new product development, working on complex mechanical equipment used in demanding environments. The Role This position focuses on optimising existing products while also contributing to new product development from early concept stages. You will analyse real-world machine performance and translate findings into practical design improvements that enhance reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. This is an ideal role for a Design Engineer who enjoys improving mature products, or a Manufacturing / Operations Engineer looking to transition into a more design-led position. Key Responsibilities Analyse field performance, warranty data, and production issues to identify improvement opportunities Redesign components and assemblies to improve build, reliability, durability, and serviceability Apply DFM/DFA principles to enhance current products and influence future designs Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers to deliver robust, production-ready solutions Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities Manage engineering changes from concept through to release and production Contribute to new product development, embedding lessons learned into early-stage designs Requirements Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline Experience in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or product development Proven track record of product improvement, redesign or optimisation Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes Experience applying DFM/DFA principles Experience with 3D CAD tools (or strong interest in developing advanced design capability) Desirable Experience with heavy equipment, mobile machinery, hydraulics, or structural assemblies Exposure to new product development (NPD/NPI) processes Key Skills Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals Ability to translate real-world issues into practical design solutions Confident working with complex assemblies and systems Data-driven, problem-solving mindset Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Hands-on, pragmatic approach with a focus on real-world application Clear and effective communication What's on Offer Opportunity to work on complex, real-world engineering challenges Strong blend of design, improvement and innovation work Career development within a growing engineering environment Collaborative and supportive team culture For further information on this job, apply via the link or contact for a confidential chat today.
