Location: London (Hybrid)

Contract: 6 months+ (likely extension)

IR35: Outside

Start: ASAP


Overview

Data Engineer required to support a finance transformation programme within a digital financial services business. Focus on modernising financial data systems and replacing manual processes with scalable, cloud-based solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with finance stakeholders
  • Design and deliver data integrations and data products
  • Bring General Ledger into the central reporting repository
  • Integrate a Treasury Management System into central data and automate accounting postings
  • Build curated finance data marts for self-service reporting
  • Enable near real-time reporting capability
  • Operate as a proactive, autonomous contributor within a Scrum team
  • Support experimentation with agentic AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) for discovery and requirement definition


Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Strong finance domain knowledge
  • Extensive AWS data engineering experience
  • Experience with cloud-native data platforms
  • Python
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with D365 or similar ERP systems
  • Experience using Claude / agentic AI in delivery
