Role – We are seeking Senior Data Engineers with strong expertise in Talend and Snowflake to support a major modernisation initiative, migrating legacy Talend-based ETL into a modern cloud- Snowflake architecture. This role will suit engineers who enjoy solving complex data problems, modernising pipelines, scaling data products, and partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, data-driven environment. You will work with a modern stack including Snowflake, Talend, DBT, Python, SQL, Azure/AWS, Airflow and Terraform, contributing to a broad transformation of data capabilities across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

\n Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Talend (current state) and Snowflake / DBT (target state).

\n

Lead and execute the migration of legacy ETL workloads to Snowflake with minimal disruption.

\n

Build data integrations from varied sources including databases, APIs, and file interfaces.

\n

Write high-quality SQL for transformations, validation, and optimisation.

\n

Improve performance through parallelisation, resource tuning, and job optimisation.

\n

Contribute to data modelling for warehouse and data lake environments (including Data Vault).

\n

Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and Product teams on solution design.

\n

Ensure strong data governance, quality checks, profiling, and validation.

\n

Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices in code, CI/CD, and deployment workflows.

\n

Support cloud-based data solutions across Azure/AWS, including orchestration via Airflow.

\n

Advocate for modern data engineering standards across the wider team.

\n

Key Skills

\n Strong hands-on experience with Talend Studio for ETL design and data integration.

\n

Advanced SQL and ETL/ELT development experience.

\n

Expertise in Snowflake (architecture, performance tuning, query optimisation).

\n

Experience with DBT for transformation workflows.

\n

Proven experience migrating legacy pipelines to modern data platforms.

\n

Experience developing data models for warehouse/lake environments.

\n

Experience with Python and/or Shell scripting. \n

\n

Experience with cloud platforms ( Azure or AWS ).

\n

Experience with CI/CD, version control ( GitHub ), and modern DevOps workflows.

\n

Strong communication and cross-team collaboration capability.

\n

Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, enterprise programmes.

\n
