Location: London / HybridOrganisation: Leading Luxury Retail OrganisationType: PermanentAbout the RoleOur client, a globally recognised luxury retail organisation, is undergoing a significant transformation of its technology landscape, moving towards a modern, cloud-native, and hybrid infrastructure model.They are seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer / Platform Lead (Enterprise Services – Data Centre) to play a key role in shaping and delivering infrastructure strategy over the next 3–5 years. This will cover both their current on prem data centres and driving their move to the cloud as part of their cloud strategy.They will take on the current IT strategy and driving it to delivery through the creation of the roadmaps, principles, and guiderails, while evolving the strategy alongside the Architecture teamsThis is a high-impact, hands-on leadership position, combining strategic ownership with deep technical involvement.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and deliver a 3–5 year infrastructure roadmap aligned to business objectivesLead the transition to cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure (Azure-focused)Define and implement infrastructure standards, governance, and best practicesDesign and maintain resilient, scalable, and evergreen platformsProvide technical leadership across infrastructure servicesCollaborate with Architecture, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver secure and agile solutionsDrive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automationSupport both business-as-usual operations and transformation initiativesIdentify risks and recommend strategic infrastructure solutionsMentor and develop engineering teams, promoting modern ways of workingRequired ExperienceTechnical SkillsStrong background in enterprise infrastructure environmentsHands-on experience with:VMware (VCF)Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Git-based workflows)Proven experience delivering hybrid cloud solutions and migrationsExperience leading infrastructure transformation programmesAbility to define and execute long-term technology strategies and roadmapsStrong stakeholder management across technical and business teamsExperience driving modern engineering practices and cultural changeAdditional InformationParticipation in an on-call rota is requiredApply directly for immediate consideration
