Senior Credit Controller - Birmingham \nLocation: Birmingham, West Midlands \nIndustry: Professional Services \nContract Type: Full-time, Permanent \nSalary: Competitive, dependent on experience\n\nA large professional services business is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Credit Controller to join its Client Finance team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a reputable organisation while developing your skills in a collaborative and high-performing finance function. \n\nAbout the Role\nWorking within a focused and supportive team, you will be responsible for the recovery of outstanding monies from commercial tenants/occupiers.

Your role will involve effective communication with tenants, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure prompt collections, query resolution, and accurate financial reporting. \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProactively chase arrears in line with agreed recovery policies and timescales.\nMaintain accurate records of payment performance and agreed repayment plans.\nLiaise with surveyors, client accountants, and tenants to resolve queries efficiently.\nMonitor and report on aged debtor positions and provide input into credit control reports.\nEscalate unresolved issues, including instruction of legal proceedings where appropriate.\nEnsure tenant queries and disputes are logged and resolved within 24 hours.\nAssist with the allocation of cash receipts and identification of unallocated funds.\nMaintain compliance with all internal controls and contribute to performance improvement.\n\nAbout You\n\nExtensive experience in a credit control or rent collection role, ideally within a professional or property-based environment.\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a confident and professional telephone manner.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.\nKnowledge of credit control procedures and data protection best practices.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with accounting systems (Trace Tramps, Yardi, Qube, or similar) is advantageous.\nA relevant qualification in credit control, accounting, or debt management is desirable.\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nA supportive, high-performing team environment\nProfessional development opportunities\nHybrid working flexibility (subject to role requirements)\nA company culture focused on integrity, professionalism, and excellence
