Role: Senior Credit Controller
Location: Salford HQ / Hybrid / Remote for the right candidate
Job Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Role Purpose
Morson are seeking a proactive and highly organised Credit Control professional to provide operational, analytical, and project support to the Head of Credit Control. This hands-on role will ensure that strategy is translated into action, supporting the team in delivering efficient credit control operations and high-quality reporting.
The role is ideal for someone with experience in credit control or finance within a high-volume environment who enjoys working across projects, operational reporting, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities for the Role:
Act as primary support to the Head of Credit Control, managing priorities, follow-ups, and actions.
Prepare management information, reports, and presentations.
Assist in resolving complex accounts, disputes, and high-risk debt.
Ensure continuity of service and strong communication with senior stakeholders.
Support credit control projects including process improvements, system implementations, and policy updates.
Maintain project plans, timelines, risk logs, and status reports.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardisation across the business.
Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and documentation of controls.
Develop and roll out training materials for credit controllers and wider teams.
Analyse key reports, including debtor days, aged debt, and cash forecasting.
Identify trends and risks to improve cash collection and reduce bad debt.
Support board-level reporting and presentations.
Assist with credit limit reviews and new client credit checks.
Work closely with the Credit Manager to provide structure, prioritisation, and guidance.
Support workload planning, performance monitoring, and escalation management.
Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members.
Build strong relationships with Sales, Payroll, Finance, and other internal teams.
What we are looking for:
Strong credit control, ideally in recruitment or high-volume environments
Solid understanding of credit control, billing cycles, and cash flow management
Experience supporting projects or process improvements
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities
Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders
Experience in multi-brand or multi-site organisations
Proactive, solutions-focused, commercially minded
High attention to detail with ownership and accountability
Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
Professional, discreet, and maintains confidentiality
