Senior Controls Engineer - Up to £65,000 + Company Car + Overtime | Midlands (Local Travel Only)\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to take ownership of automation and controls projects for a well-established engineering firm. Working with a variety of PLC platforms and robotics systems, this role acts as the bridge between technical execution and commercial delivery.\n\nThis is a hands-on position for someone who can lead by example, develop junior staff, and work independently without the need for micromanagement. Most clients are based within a 1.5-hour radius of Coventry, and local travel is required.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDesign and develop PLC software from first principles (5+ years' experience required)\n\nWork across multiple platforms including Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.\n\nWrite and validate safety software in line with safety matrix requirements\n\nDevelop servo drive motion control systems\n\nIntegrate robotic systems (KUKA, ABB, FANUC)\n\nAct as the interface between the Sales Director and Controls Engineering team\n\nProduce technical documentation, including FDS, O&M manuals, and more\n\nSupport and mentor junior engineers to support skills development\n\nRequirements:\n\nProven background in manufacturing (chemical , but automotive, food, pharma, aerospace or logistics also considered)\n\nStrong understanding of PLCs, safety systems, and motion control\n\nFull UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office and technical documentation standards\n\nWhat's on Offer:\n\nSalary up to £65,000 depending on experience\n\nCompany car provided\n\nMonday to Friday daytime hours (8:30am- 4:00pm)\n\nOvertime paid at 1.3x on Saturdays, 1.5x on Sundays\n\nFlexible start/finish time\n\n23 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\nPension 3% employee / 5% employer\n\nIf you're ready to step into a lead controls role where your experience and independence are valued, and where local travel keeps your work-life balance in check, apply today.\n\nkathryn.van -\n\nTake control of your next career move
