As a Senior Controls Engineer at Mark Andy’s Global Headquarters in Chesterfield, MO, you’ll take a lead role in designing and developing advanced control systems for our custom OEM printing and converting equipment. This role calls for strong expertise in electrical and control system design, PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, and industrial automation.
You’ll work closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams, provide guidance to junior engineers, and act as a trusted technical resource throughout the entire project lifecycle—from initial concept and design through installation, commissioning, and optimization. Your work will help improve efficiency, reliability, and performance across our product lines and manufacturing operations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead engineering design and development for complex automated equipment and manufacturing processes.
Provide advanced technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
Specify and select vendor components.
Demonstrated proficiency in PLC operation, integration and programming.
Demonstrated proficiency in GUI and high-level programming.
Innovate new electrical/control system concepts and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Deliver manufacturable designs that meet safety and regulatory standards (NFPA-79, NEC, EC).
Prepare and review detailed documentation, including schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and source code.
Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems at customer sites.
SKILLS/ABILITIES :
Skill electrical and control system design with abilities in PLC programming, HMI development, and motion control systems.
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NFPA-79, NEC, EC).
Ability to design branch circuits and integrate complex automation solutions.
Skilled in GUI design and high-level programming.
Demonstrated leadership in applying theoretical and practical controls engineering principles.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of experience in design and development of industrial automation or controls systems for an OEM or industrial capital equipment / machinery.
Proficiency with CAD tools and electrical design software.
Proven track record of working with customers to determine specifications and project scope.
