Position: Senior Commercial Manager (MEP)

Salary: £100,000 – £110,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

The Company:

We are representing a specialist M&E contractor, part of a £2BN turnover group, who deliver high-profile, complex projects across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on a major project at Gatwick Airport.

The Role:

You will take full commercial responsibility for the M&E delivery of a £21m Pier Extension project. Working closely with the Project Director, you will oversee procurement, contract administration, payments, and cost management. You’ll lead two Quantity Surveyors on the scheme and ensure all commercial activities are delivered in line with NEC contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all commercial activities for the M&E package (£21m value) Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, and payments Manage and mentor two Quantity Surveyors on the project team Work closely with the Project Director to ensure commercial and contractual compliance Administer contracts (NEC, preferably Option A) and manage change control processes Drive commercial performance to meet project targets

Requirements:

Proven experience in a Senior Commercial Manager role, ideally in the M&E sector Strong NEC contract knowledge (Option A experience ) Experience in large-scale infrastructure or complex building services projects Airport project experience advantageous but not essential Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
