Job Description
Job Title: Senior Combat Systems Engineer\n\nLocation: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role\n\nSalary: Up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nWorking with the Combat Systems Engineering Manager in supporting the compilation the authoritative evidence to demonstrate that design Intent has been achieved for a specific platform, ensuring design change has been holistically integrated\n\nEnsuring that the each design change safety case has integrity, is comprehensive, coherent and consistent\n\nApplying engineering knowledge and experience to complex engineering change process in the development of engineering impact assessment and in support of problem resolution\n\nSupporting the collation of evidence to support Naval Authority certification submissions\n\nProviding technical support to the Class Lead Engineers and Platform Engineering Managers in support of engineering change embodiment\n\nSupporting the development of team members (e.g. graduates, apprentices and STEM Returners) and teams to enhance skills and competencies, such that technical capability objectives are fully achieved\n\nLiaising with both internal and external stakeholders as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed\n\nProviding suitable information or instruction for the team to undertake all activities in a safe and environmentally friendly way\n\nProviding visible engaged commitment to SHE, leading by example and acting on SHE concerns\n\nYour skills and experiences:\n\nExperience of in-service platform combat systems and /or considerable systems background\n\nPerformance Assessment Proficiency: Validated knowledge in assessing and analysing the performance of complex combat systems\n\nTest Criteria Development: Ability to develop and implement rigorous test and acceptance criteria for system modifications and new equipment\n\nEffective Communication Skills: Ample ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management\n\nManagement of change on complex platforms or systems\n\nBenefits:\n\nAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.\n\nThe Warship Technical Authority Combat Systems team:\n\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Combat Systems Engineers to join our team.\n\nAs the world has evolved, so has the way we work.
