Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist for our Child Development Psychology team with interest within Epilepsy to join our Child Health Department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. As a member of a dedicated and supportive multi-disciplinary team, including Clinical Psychologists, Speech and language therapists, Paediatricians, and nurses you will have the support & supervision of colleagues from a variety of disciplines.
There is also an exciting opportunity to be involved in expanding and developing the post-diagnostic offer the service provides, with psychological intervention skills being a key part of this. Training and development would also be offered as identified.
The team has several options available for flexible and hybrid working, including regular homeworking with appropriate IT equipment and support.

Main duties of the job
You will be an active, autonomous member of a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist psychological services to children, adolescents, and families in North Derbyshire. Your role will include:
Providing specialist neuropsychological assessments and autism assessments for children and young people.
To work as part of the paediatric Epilepsy multidisciplinary team providing input and support as appropriate.
To provide intervention for children and families who are accessing support from the Epilepsy service.
To contribute to relevant training programmes and service developments.

Skills
- Knowledge of appropriate clinical models and approaches relevant to working with young people with Autism
- Experience of carrying out service evaluations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skills in working with emotional and behavioural problems with children and families
- Knowledge of relevant NICE guidelines
Personal
- Ability to tolerate and manage highly distressing emotional issues
- Ability to manage and work with organisational stress and to effectively manage the stress of others
- Ability to engage in sustained mental effort involving tasks demanding intense concentration

Experience
- Experience and knowledge of working with young people with learning disabilities/autism/neuro-development diagnoses/Epilepsy

Qualifications
- Doctoral Qualification in Clinical Psychology
- Additional training post doctorate
