Senior Civil Engineer

Leicester based

£50,000-£60,000 per year

We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to play a leading role in delivering a diverse range of highway and infrastructure schemes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing independent consultancy working across projects that range from small-scale highway improvements through to large residential and multi-million-pound commercial developments.

As part of our CivilsPay Team, you will work on a varied portfolio of projects, producing designs that include a full range of access junction solutions such as roundabouts, signalised junctions, ghost-island right turns, and priority junctions. For the right individual, this role offers genuine scope to influence and help develop a strategically important sector of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver highways and civil infrastructure designs from concept through to detailed design
• Design vertical and horizontal road alignments
• Produce junction designs (roundabouts, priority, ghost island, signalised)
• Prepare drainage designs and strategies, including SuDS solutions
• Contribute to Flood Risk Assessments and technical reports
• Develop Section 278 and Section 184 design packages
• Liaise with local authorities and National Highway
• Support project delivery to programme and budget
• Mentor and support junior team members

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or relevant equivalent)
• Approximately 8+ years’ post-graduate experience
• Proven highways and junction design experience
• Experience in road design (vertical & horizontal alignments)
• Drainage design & strategy experience
• Experience delivering Section 278 / Section 184 designs
• Knowledge of local authority & National Highways processes
• Strong working knowledge of relevant standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets, etc.)

Desirable Experience

• Installation of EV chargers
• Experience with other renewable energy technologies
• Previous supervisory or leadership responsibilities

Software Experience:

• AutoCAD
• Autodesk Civils 3D
• Vehicle Tracking / AutoTrack
• MicroDrainage / Flow / InfoDrainage
• KeyLINES / KeySIGN / KeyPOST (advantageous)

Desirable Experience

• Adoption agreements (Section 278, 38 & 104)
• Public realm / active travel schemes
• Cycling infrastructure (LTN 1/20)
• Utilities coordination
• Site monitoring / supervision
• Chartered status (ICE / CIHT / CIWEM) or working towards
