Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of high-profile projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently on the lookout for a capable, experienced Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a diverse array of challenging new projects.

You will be working alongside a newly-established team of design experts, based in the picturesque, multicultural Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.\n\nBenefits for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to):\n\nCompetitive salary package\nEmployee Pension Scheme\nGenerous annual leave entitlement\nCommitment to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with good career progression opportunities\nAccess to a range of exciting new projects\nOpportunities to directly influence the future of the company \n\nResponsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:\n\nContributing to the design of a range of infrastructure projects and developments\nOverseeing the day-to-day running of various projects, from inception through to successful delivery\nMentoring and supporting colleagues through their own professional development\nLiaising with clients and other stakeholders\nPreparing and checking technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, etc.\nAdhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, ensuring you uphold the appropriate health and safety standards at all times\nActing as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, and other events \n\nRequired skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:\n\nA UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil or Structural Engineering\nPossess Chartered Status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)\nExperience of working in a design-based role, within a UK-based consultancy or Local Authority setting\nConsiderable experience of working on infrastructure (namely highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects\nExperience of earthworks and drainage network modelling\nProficient in the use of various software systems (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar)\nDemonstrable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents\nExperience of liaising with clients and stakeholders within the industry\nOutstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills \n\nDesirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:\n\nA Higher Degree (in a cognate discipline)\nExperience of preparing Flood Risk Assessments and/or Transport Assessments\nExperience of leading projects/teams\nExperience of working in a public-facing role\nHold a full, valid UK driving licence \n\nIf you are interested in the role of Senior Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
