About the Opportunity
We are working exclusively with an innovative and rapidly growing civil and environmental engineering consultancy based in Bristol's harbourside, specialising in drainage, flood risk, nutrient neutrality and highway design services across the South West. This is a rare opportunity to join a technical leadership team where your expertise will directly influence project outcomes, client delivery and business growth across a wide range of development infrastructure programmes.
Role Overview
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead and manage technically challenging civil engineering tasks from feasibility, through detailed design, to delivery. You'll work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams, mentor junior engineers, and be a key contributor to project strategy, stakeholder engagement and technical excellence, particularly around environmental compliance and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead endtoend civil engineering design and project delivery across infrastructure and environmental engineering services.
·Provide expert technical input on highway design, drainage strategies (including SuDS), flood risk assessments and environmental compliance.
·Prepare, review and signoff engineering designs, technical reports, calculations and construction documentation.
·Coordinate with local authorities, statutory consultees (e.g., planning authorities / environmental regulators) and project stakeholders to ensure compliance and approvals.
·Support business development through technical insight, client engagement, and proposal preparation.
·Mentor, guide and develop junior engineering team members to elevate overall technical capability.
What You'll Bring
·BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
·Significant consultancy or industry experience in civil/infrastructure engineering.
·Proven track record delivering drainage, flood risk mitigation, highway design or related infrastructure projects.
·Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, QGIS or similar.
·Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
·Chartered status (CEng/MIHE/CIWEM) or working towards chartership .
