Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer\n\nLocation: Leeds\n Salary: Competitive plus benefits\n\nA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Leeds. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with at least five years of design experience who wants to take a lead role in delivering high quality civil engineering and drainage solutions across a wide range of development projects. You will join a collaborative and forward thinking team that places strong emphasis on technical excellence, innovation and professional development.\n\nAs a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of drainage schemes, SuDS, external works and civil infrastructure for projects in sectors such as education, commercial, residential, industrial, petrochemical, food and energy.

You will prepare S104, S38 and S278 submissions, produce Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Impact Assessments, and ensure all outputs meet industry standards and statutory requirements. You will also take part in site assessments, contribute to planning support and play an active role in mentoring junior colleagues.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPrepare and lead drainage, SuDS, external works and civil infrastructure design.\n\nProduce technical reports including Flood Risk Assessments and drainage studies.\n\nPrepare S104, S38 and S278 packages.\n\nWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and attend site assessments.\n\nProvide guidance to junior staff and support high technical standards.\n\nManage workload, project delivery, fees and resource planning.\n\nUse AutoCAD Civil 3D and InfoDrainage to produce high quality design outputs.\n\nAbout You\n\nMinimum five years' experience in civil and drainage design.\n\nDegree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally with a master's degree.\n\nChartered or working towards Chartership.\n\nStrong understanding of UK standards, legislation and design requirements.\n\nConfident communicator with leadership and project management capability.\n\nPenguin Recruitment is operating as a Recruitment Agency for this position.
