£38,743 – £42,058 OTE (including sleep-ins) + £1,000 joining bonus
⏰ 40 hours per week + sleep-ins
2 days on / 4 days off (alternate week pattern)
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Children’s Residential Care Worker to join a well-established, Ofsted-registered children’s home in Derby.
This role involves supporting children and young people aged 10–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs. As a Senior, you will play a key role in leading shifts, supporting staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, consistent care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and support the wider care team
Provide high-quality care, safeguarding, and emotional support
Undertake key working responsibilities and support co-key workers
Carry out and review risk assessments and care plans
Delegate tasks and support staff development
Manage incidents, conflict resolution, and end-of-shift debriefs
Maintain accurate records and reports
Facilitate young people’s meetings and daily activities

What We’re Looking For
QCF/NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children & Young People (essential)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare (essential)
Experience supporting children with EBD and complex behaviours
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
A resilient and proactive approach to supporting young people
