Generic CAMHS support children / young people and their families where there is concern about emotional or behavioural difficulties. Assessment and therapy can be provided to children, young people, and families, where appropriate. CAMHS clinicians consult with other professionals.
As a Senior Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist in our multi-disciplinary team, you will be assessing young people, delivering evidence-based therapeutic support, and contributing to the overall development and provision of the service. The service is based at Bay Tree House, Enfield, EN2 6NZ. However, you may be required to work at any other location of the Trust's interest, including travelling to meetings outside of the borough as needed.
Clinical appointments are provided at the service base and in local special schools and other multi-agency settings. Joint working, consultation, and liaison with other professionals, services, and agencies are integral to the work within a CAMHS setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Provision of specialist assessments with clients, utilizing complex data from various sources such as self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and interviews with clients and their families.
- Formulating and implementing shared decision-making plans for intervention and management of young people's mental health issues, based on appropriate frameworks and evidence-based methods.
- Implementing a range of interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting formulations as necessary and maintaining provisional hypotheses.
- Evaluating intervention options, considering theoretical and therapeutic models, and complex factors influencing the individual or family.

You may be required to work at various locations across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, or Islington, as needed.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Participating in team duty rota to support urgent referrals, risk assessments, and crisis responses.
- Communicating assessment, formulation, and intervention information with sensitivity and skill.
- Maintaining high standards of clinical record-keeping and documentation.
- Keeping up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and issues concerning the client group and mental health.
