Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Buying to lead a product acquisition strategy for a Luxury Beauty, Wellbeing & Healthcare Store. This role is responsible for curating an exceptional and innovative product portfolio that aligns with our brand’s premium positioning and meets the evolving desires of our discerning customer base. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for the beauty and wellbeing industry, an impeccable eye for emerging trends, and a proven track record of driving commercial success through expert buying and merchandising.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision:

  • Develop and execute the overall buying strategy, ensuring a cohesive and compelling product assortment across assigned categories.
  • Identify and forecast future trends in the luxury beauty, wellbeing and healthcare market to ensure our brand remains a market leader.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the buying and retail space planning team, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain a strong brand identity through thoughtful product selection and brand partnerships.

Product & Supplier Management:

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with new and existing brands and suppliers to secure innovative and market-leading products.
  • Manage the entire product lifecycle from initial concept to launch, ensuring all products meet our rigorous quality and sustainability standards.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and competitor benchmarking to inform product pricing and promotional strategies.

Commercial & Financial Acumen:

  • Manage and maintain the required margin expectations of the company, including brand funded promotions, rebates and stock rotation on slower moving lines.
  • Analyse sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make data-driven decisions and adjust buying strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with marketing, e-commerce, and retail teams to ensure a seamless product launch and a unified brand message.
  • Ownership of rate card sales for defined categories, renewals and activation, meeting and exceeding the set budget.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior buying role, preferably within the luxury, beauty, or lifestyle retail sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a successful buying team.
  • Proven track record of building strong brand relationships and negotiating complex deals.
