As part of a restructure, this business based in Grantham are now looking for a Senior Buyer to take a key role in shaping their procurement strategy. This isn’t just a transactional buying role — you’ll manage an £8 million spend across 4,000+ parts and influence supplier strategy for the future. You’ll be visible across the business, presenting ideas, building relationships, and contributing to a 3–5 year purchasing strategy. They’re looking for someone from a technical or manufacturing background with exposure to ISO9001 standards and ideally working towards, or holding, a CIPS qualification. You’ll work closely with internal teams including Production, Stores, Goods In, Quality, and HSE, while managing relationships with external suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. Skills & Experience Required Essential:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing/procurement. Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Resilient, structured, and able to manage complex situations. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments.
Desirable:
CIPS Level 4 (or working towards). Experience interpreting technical drawings. Understanding of financial management principles. Knowledge of aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing procurement.
