The Role We are seeking a commercially astute Senior Business Development and Marketing Manager to join our Growth team in London. This is a pivotal role in an evolving function, responsible for driving growth across our integrated media, creative, and social offerings. You will work directly with senior leadership to fuel our business ambitions, leveraging our AI-native capabilities to identify opportunities, engage prospects, and support our ongoing expansion. This is a wide-ranging and challenging role for a natural storyteller who can operate at the intersection of technology, creativity, and commerce. Key Responsibilities
Craft and distribute compelling prospecting content across email campaigns, LinkedIn, and events to engage key targets and generate leads. Working with creative, strategy and client teams to turn our best campaigns and case studies into PR‑able, social first content. Collaborate with agency leaders to develop thought leadership content that showcases our integrated capabilities and drives new business opportunities. Manage and support the end‑to‑end pitch process, including RFIs and RFPs, collaborating with teams internally to build and refine our story, and leveraging AI tools to streamline information gathering and initial response drafting. Work closely with internal teams across client services, creative, strategy and production to develop best in class case studies across our clients. Build and nurture strong relationships across our global agency network, with our agency partners, and within the wider WPP group to uncover collaborative growth opportunities. Contribute to the evolution of our growth strategy and processes, identifying opportunities to integrate AI and new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Coordinate and manage the end‑to‑end awards submission process, from initial research to final submission, working in close partnership with senior stakeholders to deliver high quality entries that highlight our agency’s achievements.
Key Skills
Proven experience in developing and managing successful new business prospecting workstreams, ideally within an agency environment. Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information and arguments in a coherent, compelling, and accessible format. Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of business, marketing communications, and economics, balanced with an appreciation for creative craft. Strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture. Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and timelines in a fast‑paced environment. Data‑savvy with experience in curating relevant information from diverse sources to understand market segments and trends, with proficiency in CRM platforms like Salesforce. Confidence and gravitas to engage with C‑level executives and senior stakeholders, both internally and externally. An international mindset with a strong understanding of global business cultures. A collaborative nature combined with the conviction and autonomy to make decisive contributions to the growth of the agency.
