Our client is a major player in the European Freight and Logistics market providing complex logistical solutions to UK and European manufacturers, importers and exporters. \nWell established, financially credible UK company trading since 1983, employing just under 300 staff\nWe are now recruiting for a Senior Business Development Executive to join our energetic and experienced Sales Team at their offices in St Albans.\n\nMainly based at the St Albans office, your role will be office based for at least the first couple of months, then visiting clients least twice per month, 1 or 2 days out of the office at a time. Could be more if going to Europe, (would only be Holland, Belgium, Germany and possibly France) \n\nThe main function of this senior sales role is the acquisition and development of new business.
This will be achieved by verbal engagement, detailed proposals, illustrating the difference and value-added services the client offers and 'in person' visiting. When the client is active you will also be responsible for nurturing and maximising the potential of the account. \nWorking as part of a team of five in the sales team, the Senior Business Development Executive will:\n\n- Maintain a level of 50 - 75 targeted new business telephone calls per week.
\n- Build strong personal relationships with new and existing clients \n- Negotiate with clients and suppliers.\n- Submit quotes, overcome objections and devise conversion strategies to win business. \n- Talking clients through the customs formalities required to ship goods into and from the European Union. \n- Account management.\n- Attend a weekly sales meeting\n- Assist with Company marketing projects, for example LinkedIn posts, marketing literature, e-shots \n\nExperience required \n\n- Proven Business to Business (B2B) sales experience.
\n- Freight industry experience would be an advantage but not essential. \n- A friendly, engaging telephone manner. \n- Excellent IT Skills, especially Excel.
\n- An energetic, enthusiastic personality. \n- The ability to work to deadlines. \n- Show Innovation and problem solving skills.\n- Strong negotiating ability.
\n- Possess excellent attention to detail. \n- The ability to work with and support their colleagues. \n- A positive attitude and desire to succeed.\n\nPackage and Benefits \n\n- Salary up to £45,000 plus £10,000 OTE \n- Company car will be provided.
