POSITION: Senior Business Development Manager

The Network Development team is currently looking for a Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) to join the team to accelerate the implementation of the ‘Dealer of the Future’ project. The BDM is a primary point of contact for dealers across the Network. Their role involves managing and motivating Dealers to achieve maximum performance level across sales, service and parts targets, as well as guiding the development of Business plans to ensure dealers’ alignment with IVECO’s Network Strategy and that IVECO's minimum organisational, efficiency and profitability standards are met.


Main Purpose of the Job

Given the pivotal role in managing relations between dealerships and IVECO, the Senior BDM needs to possess excellent knowledge of the automotive/commercial vehicle industry and of business operations more broadly. In addition to strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, they need to be able to navigate financial, commercial and other quantitative data at ease, and to be able to translate data into professional, concise presentations for any level of stakeholders (to C-suite).


Key Tasks:

  • Collect, analyse and report (in Excel, PowerPoint and other applications as needed) on dealers’ sales and service performance data, monitor Sales and Service NPS scores, as well as KPIs collected by other departments.
  • Monitor dealers’ economic and financial position relative to Budget, the Business Analysis composite data and dealers’ development and investment plans.
  • Establish and coordinate multi-stakeholder project groups with other IVECO departments (in the UK and HQ) and external parties as required to implement the UK Network Strategy.
  • Support the definition of dealer investment plans, anticipating areas of concern and contributing to the dynamic evolution of the dealer footprint.
  • Carry out thorough analyses of existing dealers and repairers as well as potential candidates within the broader activities of scouting, appointing and/or terminating franchise partners.
  • Establish regular virtual and in-person contact with dealers to assess alignment with standards and review performance and action plans, overall and for specific projects.
  • The position may require to travel above 50% of the time, mostly within the UK & Ireland market; international travel may be required for meetings at headquarters in Turin, Italy, or at other company locations across Europe.


Knowledge and Experience


  • Solid commercial vehicle experience with good knowledge of the industry/network/market.
  • Excellent PC skills: Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of the operating characteristics of a successful Dealership.
  • Ability to plan and support organisational actions for the development of the business.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting statements, to be able to analyse companies’ financial reports as well as to create basic financial statements for project-related activities.
  • Good knowledge of budget planning and spending control.
  • Ability to plan commercial actions for the Network and forecast their impact on Dealers’ financial performance.
  • Ability to develop investment support proposals based on dealer performance analyses.
  • Strong leadership ability complemented by excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to influence all members and levels of management staff.
  • Ambition to grow further within the Brand and Company.
  • Preferably educated to degree standard.
