We want to hear from you.About the role:As Senior Business Development Manager, you will lead on the identification and deal execution of a range of collaboration and partnership opportunities. You will be focused on building LifeArc’s portfolio in Rare Diseases and Childhood Cancer, and support the development and implementation of major strategic partnerships.Key responsibilities:Represent LifeArc externally to attract and seek out collaborators and partners to advance LifeArc’s strategyDrive external networking to build awareness of LifeArc’s areas of focus, always acting as an ambassador for LifeArc strategy to external communityBuild relationships within key organisations to assess potential partnership opportunitiesLead deal-related projects within LifeArc, business partnering with scientific and corporate functions, to explore and build business cases of opportunities to in and out license, collaborate, co-fund, or use other mechanisms to advance scientific innovation towards benefit for patientsLead negotiation of term sheets for prioritised opportunities and, with Legal, negotiate contracts according to LifeArc needs and requirements, managing all stakeholders and governance processes as appropriateProvide BD input into internal projects and initiatives, bringing external insight and driving evaluation of new opportunities and key decisions in support of strategyContribute to the delivery of LifeArc’s revenue generation strategyPrepare and present business cases with robust analyses, scenario planning, and risk assessments for presentation to governance committees.Coordinate cross-functional due diligence teams including Science, Clinical, Legal, Alliance Management and Finance teams.Essential experience required:Experience with leading contract negotiationsStakeholder management experience, with the ability to drive senior level decision makingNetworking experience and strong ability to build relationships and act as the face of LifeArc in support of strategic goalsEducation:PhD or more advance studies in life sciences, relevant business degree will also be consideredPrevious experience in business development in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment preferred.About us:LifeArc is a not-for-profit life science organisation, leading the way for change in rare diseases in the UK and supporting promising initiatives in global health.
