OverviewSenior Business Development Executive - Corporate (Capital Markets & Reorganizations) at Baker McKenzie.Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Role purposeThe Senior Business Development Executive - Corporate (Capital Markets & Reorganizations) will deliver the in-market BDMC plans and operations of the Corporate Group in London and, through consistently high standards and effective client engagement, develop a strategic BDMC business-partnering capability that enables Corporate to win, retain, and grow business. The Corporate group comprises five teams: Projects, M&A, Capital Markets, Private Equity, and Reorganisations. The role will focus on Capital Markets and Reorganizations.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the execution of BDMC plans for Corporate, delivering high-quality BDMC support and coordinating with BDMC Specialist and Centre-based functions (central marketing, directories, proposals, events, key client management, data analytics, and design teams).Implement BDMC priorities for the Corporate group, including client targeting, thought leadership, RFP responses, and involvement in a range of special projects across the practice group.Collaborate with Partners and fee-earners to ensure BDMC requirements are strategically developed, implemented, and communicated; work with Specialist functions to challenge requests where commercially prudent (e.g., pitch go/no go decisions).Maintain and develop the Firm's external profile within the desired sectors through sponsorships, trade body memberships, and in-house campaign initiatives.Support Partners and fee-earners to identify and implement external profile-raising opportunities, including thought-leadership programs, article writing, and speaking opportunities; promote work on products/propositions.Ensure content and materials (e.g., capability statements, deal lists, CVs) suitable for BDMC purposes are kept up-to-date and shared; develop new materials for prioritized/service lines and opportunities as required.Skills and experienceExperience in a marketing and/or business development role, preferably in a professional services environmentExperience working with stakeholders and developing relationshipsStrong judgment and a track record of independent strategic recommendations and ideasExcellent oral and written communication skillsAble to coordinate competing priorities effectivelyUnderstanding of marketing and communicationsSelf-motivated and independent; able to work with minimal supervisionComfortable working across multiple cultures and time zones in a matrix organizationStrong interpersonal skills and collaborative approachHigh attention to detailAbout usAt Baker McKenzie we are different in the way we think, work and behave.
