Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
An independent building services design consultancy is seeking to hire a Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer to join their growing team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are keen to develop their career with a focus on Sustainability in the built environment.
Key responsibilities:
Assist Building Services Engineers and Sustainability Specialists with technical analysis and reporting
Carry out Part L / Section 6 compliance assessments and contribute to operational energy modelling (TM54)
Provide sustainability advice throughout the design process
Attend site visits to observe works in progress and gain practical project experience
Continually develop technical knowledge of building environmental systems and work towards professional accreditation
Support decarbonisation studies and sustainability assessments, including BREEAM and NABERS
Use IES-VE to deliver energy, compliance, and performance assessments
Undertake building performance modelling and analysis to support building services design decisionsWhat we’re looking for:
Degree qualified related to the Built Environment/Engineering
Working knowledge of IES-VE software
Hold a Low Carbon Energy Assessor certification (Non-domestic Buildings)
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Building Physics related role
Knowledge of heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort and natural ventilation
Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and part of a team
