We are seeking a dedicated Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in an established UK accountancy practice. This role is bookkeeping & VAT-focused and is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career specialising in bookkeeping.

- Manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
- Prepare and submit VAT returns on time
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate double-entry bookkeeping up to trial balance
- Review work of more junior bookkeeping staff if required
- Liaise with HMRC & other regulatory bodies in relation to VAT matters
- Meet deadlines reliably and maintain high levels of accuracy
- MUST have a minimum 5 years’ experience working directly in a UK accountancy practice (without this experience your CV will not be considered)
- Strong, xrlawcv hands-on experience with Xero
- Solid understanding of VAT rules and returns in the UK
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills, both with colleagues and clients
- Accounting/bookkeeping qualification (e.g. AAT) is desirable but not essential
