Senior Backend Engineer (Founding Team) | Real-Time Voice AI | Competitive Compensation + Equity | London (Hybrid)

Most AI startups are just wrappers around a GPT prompt. At GLOT, we are building the low-latency infrastructure that makes real-time human interpretation possible. We aren't just translating words; we’re preserving the meaning of the conversation - tone, intent, and nuance - at scale.

We’ve moved past the MVP. Now, we need an architect to build the engine that powers millions of concurrent voice streams.

As our second backend hire, you aren't "joining a team" - you are defining our engineering DNA. You will report directly to the Technical Founder to:

• Architect from Zero: Design and deploy a unified AI API platform capable of handling high-concurrency voice data.
• Own the Core: Build out the critical "business brain" of GLOT—billing, usage metering, and complex data pipelines.
• Solve for Latency: Optimize real-time voice room infrastructure where every millisecond matters.
• Scale for Global Reach: Transition our Azure-based environment from a working product to a production-grade, auto-scaling beast.

• Experience: 5+ years of building and scaling production-grade distributed systems. You've seen things break at scale and know how to prevent it.
• The Core: Expert-level Python and deep familiarity with Distributed Systems.
• Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Azure (or AWS/GCP) and architecting high-concurrency load balancing.
• The "Edge": Experience with WebRTC, WebSockets, or real-time audio processing is a massive bonus.
• Mindset: You prefer a blank canvas to a pre-filled coloring book. You take extreme ownership.

• Base Salary: Competitive Compensatio + Meaningful Equity (Founding Team).
