Senior Java / Backend Engineer - Greenfield Fintech (London Hybrid)

Salary: £95,000 – £140,000 + bonus

Location: London (Hybrid)

We’re working with a high-growth fintech accelerator within a major financial services organisation, building brand-new consumer products from the ground up. This is not a legacy transformation programme - these are genuine greenfield builds with a significant roadmap and real product ownership from day one.

We’re looking for Senior and Lead Backend Engineers to help design and build modern, scalable platforms in fast-moving, product-led squads.

Tech environment:

• Java / Kotlin (JVM ecosystem)

• Microservices architecture

• AWS / GCP cloud-native platforms

• Spring / Spring Boot

• Docker & Kubernetes

• Messaging / streaming systems

• Observability & distributed tracing tooling

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and building resilient, distributed systems at scale

• Contributing to architectural direction across new platforms

• Writing clean, secure, production-ready code

• Driving performance, reliability, and zero-downtime delivery

• Working closely with product and cross-functional engineering teams

What we’re looking for:

• Strong backend engineering experience (Java/Kotlin preferred)

• Experience with distributed systems and cloud environments

• A strong sense of ownership and engineering quality

• Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving product environments

• Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
