Astute's Renewables team is very proudly partnered with an innovative business in the circular economy, with multiple sites across the UK. The company recycle and repurpose used cooking oils and food waste to generate sustainable fuel and generate biogas. The company have an excellent track-record of training and developing staff and are keen to add a Senior Automation Engineer to the team.\n\nThis position is site based at their site in Liverpool and will be working with the engineering team to provide support, guidance and advice on project delivery, focussing on integration and use of automation and controls to optimise the processes.\n\nIf you're a Senior Automation Engineer or Automation Engineer looking to work for a key organisation in the market, then submit your CV to apply today.\n\nResponsibilities and duties of the Senior Automation Engineer role\n\nReporting to the Group Automation Engineer you will:\n\nSupport key stakeholders in projects at the Company's production sites across automation, controls, electrical systems and instrumentation\nProvide in-the-moment EICA technical support to the site and production staff\nAssess gaps and then create process logic and SCADA graphics for the identified process upgrades\nTroubleshoot PLC, instrumentation and LV electrical control circuits\nPerform stroke test on pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor-operated valves\nPerform Loop-checks and troubleshooting\nPerform verification checks on interlocks, alarms, and controls performance.\nPerform installation inspection against design documentation.\nTake part in and/or lead HAZOP/SWIFT/LOPA studies\nOccasional travel to other sites\n Professional qualifications\n\nWe are looking for someone with the following:\n\nDegree qualified in a relevant field\nMinimum 5 years' experience of engineering in either chemical, anaerobic digestion or oil and gas\nExperience in continuous improvement and in providing value through automation\nAllen Bradley and Rockwell PLC experience is key, or at least one of the two\nExperience with/able to learn different types of communication systems: ethernet/IP, Modbus, Serial, Modbus TCP\nAny HV electrical work or experience would be hugely advantageous\n\nPersonal skills \n\nThe Senior Automation Engineer role would suit someone who is:\n\nGood at fault-finding and has a methodical approach\nAble to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics\nAnalytical, solutions driven and collaborative \n\nSalary and benefits of the Senior Automation Engineer role \n\nSalary depending on experience\nLife insurance\nCompany pension\nProgression and development opportunitiesAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
