Senior Application Engineer - Backend (Cloud) Manchester, UK | Hybrid (Tue-Thu in office)About the RoleWe're looking for a Senior Application Engineer with strong backend and cloud development expertise to help design and build scalable, secure services that power Internal Platforms.What You'll DoDesign and build scalable backend services and APIs supporting mobile and event-driven architecturesContribute across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements through deployment and maintenanceProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers within the teamPromote best practices such as TDD, BDD, and secure API designCollaborate with technical leads, IT teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutionsApply design patterns and engineering best practices to create maintainable, efficient systemsContribute to continuous improvement through new ideas, tools, and approachesWhat We're Looking ForStrong backend engineering experience and problem-solving skillsExperience designing APIs for mobile applications and event-driven architecturesBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experiencePreferred:Experience building distributed microservices using Java or Kotlin with Spring BootKnowledge of OAuth 2.0 and secure API designExperience with AWS cloud servicesFamiliarity with API design principles and automated testingIf you think you'd be a great fit for the role please apply below.McGregor Boyall is an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on any grounds.
