Senior Accountant

My client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join their established and growing accountancy practice based in Pinner. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take a senior, hands-on role within a progressive, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Practice & Compliance Management:
• Support the Partner in overseeing compliance across all statutory and regulatory requirements. • Manage team workflows, performance, and the smooth running of daily operations. • Ensure deadlines are met and quality standards maintained across all client deliverables. Client Relationship Management: • Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication and high satisfaction levels. • Build and maintain long-term professional relationships with a diverse client base.
Accounts & Tax Duties:
• Prepare and review VAT returns, year-end accounts, and corporate/self-assessment tax returns. • Oversee accounts preparation, finalisation, and management accounts. • Manage payroll and CIS administration. • Review client contracts to identify non-profitable or unsuitable engagements. • Ensure full compliance with UK tax legislation and money laundering regulations.
Business Development & Practice Support:
• Work closely with the Partner to support growth, profitability, and process improvement initiatives. • Contribute to marketing, networking, and client communication efforts. • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through modern systems and technology.
Candidate Requirements:
• ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience. • Proven background working within an accountancy practice. • Excellent understanding of UK accounting and tax legislation. • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Confident using accounting and CRM software. • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
