SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT:


  • Experience: External Audit & Financial Reporting (Financial Services advantage)
  • £65,000 - £80,000 + package (incl. 20% bonus, pension etc.)
  • Offices: City of London (3 days WFH)


Pear Talent is representing an Insurance group, who have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant in the City. This is a varied role that encompasses reviewing, producing and analysing the Group’s financial results. It involves coordination across Group and business units, interlinking between financial metrics to ensure coherent results. You’ll be part of a high calibre team, with regular exposure to senior management and involvement in business-wide Finance change and improvement initiatives.


Key accountabilities:

  • Play a key role in the delivery of accounting processes and supporting the financial and regulatory reporting team in preparing and reviewing reports.
  • Work with the relevant teams to ensure a smooth and controlled month/quarter end process
  • Produce various group disclosures for inclusion in the annual report and accounts, interims and reports to analysts.
  • Support Financial Planning & Analysis with any insights and queries.
  • Take a significant role on a finance project and other ad-hoc initiatives.


Required experience:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in a financial accounting/reporting role (ideally Financial Services) and earlier background in External Audit with a leading Top20 accounting practice.


  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA etc.)
  • Good understanding of statutory financial statements (UKGAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting processes
  • External audit experience (Top20 accounting practice)
  • Strong team player and ability to multitask.
  • Able to maintain motivation and deliver quality to tight deadlines without supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Professional, self-motivated, pro-active individual, capable of assimilating information quickly in order to be effective in a short period of time.
  • Ability to operate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to implement improvements in an environment of change.
