Teaching Assistant Hourly Rate: £14.63 Location: Burnley Job Type: Full-time Start Date: 13th April 2026 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM - 3:15 PM We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, working within lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4), specifically supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in children's lives and assisting them in overcoming challenges to achieve their educational goals. Day-to-day of the role: Support the educational and social development of children in Years 3 and 4 under the direction and guidance of the headteacher and class teachers. Assist in the preparation and delivery of learning activities specifically tailored to children with SEN. Work closely with other professionals such as SEN coordinators to ensure all learning and care needs are met. Monitor and support the progress of children, providing feedback and assistance to ensure they achieve their full potential. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment, adapting to the needs of children with SEN. Engage with children to foster relationships built on trust and respect. Assist with the development of social skills and encourage children to interact with others. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with SEN children. Strong understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by children in lower Key Stage 2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, staff, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to supporting children with additional needs.
