SEND Teaching Assistant

James Ray Recruitment is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants for SEN and SEMH schools across the Wirral. Full-time and part-time positions are available, with immediate starts for the right candidates.
The Role
You will support children and young people with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and learning difficulties, working 1:1 or in small groups inside and outside the classroom. Some roles may involve personal care, ensuring pupils’ wellbeing, safety, and dignity at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
*
Experience working in SEN or SEMH settings
*
Calm, patient, and resilient, with strong behaviour management skills
*
Able to adapt learning and support strategies to meet individual pupil needs
*
Confident supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
*
Willing to assist with personal care where required
*
Additional skills such as Makaton, Moving & Handling, PEG feeding, or specialist ASD/SEMH training are desirable but not essential
