SEND Teaching Assistant

Staff for Education are working in partnership with an Alternative Provision in the Nottingham area and we are recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to start after Easter in April 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position until at least the end of the academic year, due to increased needs within the setting.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include: • Supporting the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) • Working closely with pupils on a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups to support their academic, social, and emotional development • Adapting resources and activities to ensure accessibility for all learners • Supporting behaviour management and promoting a positive learning environment • Assisting with monitoring and recording pupil progress and feeding back to the class teacher • Building positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and wellbeing
To be successful for the role, you will: • Have a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience • Have experience working with pupils with SEND (ideally within Alternative Provision, Primary, or Secondary settings) • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach • Be resilient, patient, and committed to supporting young people with addit...
